CHOPIN GUITAR QUARTET

Chopin Guitar Quartet tworzą: Marek_Gryziecki, Andrzej_Heimowski, Andrzej_Krawiec i Grzegorz_Krawiec.
Chopin Guitar Quartet was founded in Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw (Poland) in 2003. Musicians perform pieces originaly written for four guitars as well as their own transcriptions of other works. Programme played by artists includes such a composers as:
Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Georges Bizet, Fryderyk Chopin, Joaquin Rodrigo, Andrew York.
In October 2003 Chopin Guitar Quartet won 1st prize in International Guitar Competition in Gdansk (Poland).
Musicians performed in many festivals in Poland and abroad. The most imprtant events are:
- Concert in Madrid (Spain), December 2003
- Concert in Wien (Austria), October 2005
- Concert in Cracow Philharmonic (Poland), September 2006
- Concert in Warsaw Philharmonic (Poland), February 2007
In November 2008 Chopin Guitar Quartet performed famous
Concierto Andaluz for 4 guitars and orchestra composed by Joaquin Rodrigo, together with Kielce Philharmony Orchestra conducted by Piotr Wijatkowski in Witold Lutoslawski Concert Studio in Polish Radio in Warsaw.
Musicians in their performances show advantages of guitars that even the most known compositions obtain new sound and quality.
Grzegorz Krawiec

Born on 22nd of November 1980 in Przemysl (Poland). 1987-1999 was studying classical guitar in Music School in Przemysl with prof. Wojciech Mandzyn and during 1999-2004 at The Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw with prof. Marcin Zalewski.
His acheivements are:

Among his many scholarships and prizes are: The Ministry of Culture, Mayor
of Przemysl, The Prime Minister of Poland, „Young artists in Europe” – Paderborn (Germany), The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
He has played in such great concert halls as: Witold Lutoslawski Polish Radio Concert Studio in Warsaw, Polish National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw, Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna and Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto.
For many years he has been performing in Poland and abroad (Austria, Bulgaria, Brazil, Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Canada).
Performances include solo recitals, chamber concerts (with Andrzej Krawiec and Chopin Guitar Quartet) as well as with orchestras: (Aukso – Chamber Orchestra, „Mala Filharmonia” in Warsaw, Olsztyn Philharmonic Orchestra, Lublin Philharmonic Orchestra, Rzeszow Philharmonic Orchestra, Kielce Philharmonic Orchestra, Capella Bydgostiensis, Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra in Katowice and The National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw).
In 2005 his first solo CD „Journey – Podroz” was released in MA Recordings. Included on the CD is the world premiere recording of „Reminiscence” by Sylwester Laskowski. „Journey-Podroz” was voted by SoundStage! as a one of 12 best CDs in 2005.
In 2006 he premiered (together with Penderecki String Quartet) a quintet by Marcin Banasik „The Great Bridge” for a guitar and string quartet.
In 2007 he recorded in Canada his second CD (with Andrzej Krawiec), curenttly it is preparing to be released.
In 2008 he recorded CD with Zdzisław Musial compositions. CD is going to be released together with scores in Absonic Edition.
Andrzej Krawiec

was born in 1981 in Przemysl. He graduated from Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf (Robert-Schumann-Hochschule), in the guitar class of Prof. Joaquin Clerch (2005) and from the Academy of Music in Cracow in the class of Prof. Michal Nagy (2007). Twice, he has been awarded an artistic scholarship of the Minister of Culture and Art. From 1996 to 2000 he was a scholarship holder of the National Fund for Children. He has taken part in master classes conducted by A. Desiderio (Italy), R. Aussel (Argentina), E. Fisk (USA), R. Gallen (Spain), W. Lendle (Germany), T. Müller-Pering (Germany), A. Swete (Austria), M. Tamayo (Cuba) and M. Tröster (Germany). Between 1996 and 2007 he was the prizewinner of national and international guitar competitions.
His most important achievements include:
- 1st Prize in the National Classical Guitar Competition in Koszalin (in a chamber ensembles category – in a duo with his brother Grzegorz Krawiec) in 1996.
- 1st Prize in the International Chamber Music Competition „GHITARALIA” in Przemysl (in a duo with his brother Grzegorz) in 1996.
- 1st Prize in Czesław Drozdziewicz International Guitar Competition in Krynica in 1997.
- 2nd Prize in the International Guitar Competition in Gdansk in 1997.
- 3rd Prize in the International Guitar Competition in Viareggio (Italy) (in a chamber ensembles category – in a duo with his brother Grzegorz) in 1998.
- 2nd Prize in the National Classical Guitar Competition in Poznan in 2000.
- 1st Prize in the International Guitar Competition in Gdansk (in a chamber ensembles category - with Chopin Guitar Quartet) in 2003.
- the winner of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw (with Chopin Guitar Quartet) in 2004.
- 2nd Prize in the National Guitar Competition in Lublin (in a chamber ensembles category – in a duo with his brother Grzegorz) in 2007.
Many times he has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and with orchestras both in Poland and abroad (e.g. in Austria, Canada, Germany and Spain). He is also the author of numerous transcriptions for guitar including works of Bach, Scarlatti, Chopin, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Tansman, Hindemith, Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Piazzolla.
Marek Gryziecki

U Born on 5th of July 1980 in Przemysl (Poland). 1990-1999 was studying classical guitar in Music School in Przemysl with prof. Wojciech Mandzyn.
1999-2001 student at Cracow Music Academy with prof. J. Sochacki and prof. K. Sadlowski.
Since 2002 studing at The Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw with prof. Marcin Zalewski.

- played in duo ensembles with musicians: Grzegorz Toporowski (accordionist), Jorge Pawel Castaneda (guitarist), Andrzej Heimowski (guitarist) and Ignacy Grzelazka (cello). Ensembles played many concerts in Poland.
2003
- 1st prize in International Guitar Competition in Gdansk (with Chopin Guitar Quartet)
2004
- Prize awarded in Austrian Music Competition (with Chopin Guitar Quartet)
Take participant in Seminar conducted by Abel Carlevaro (Urugay), Philippe Villa and Flamenco Guitar Seminar conducted by Jakub Niedoborek.
He has recorded for Television in Poland with Patrizio Buanne and he was co-operate with Universal Music Polska.
He has played concerts in Poland and abroad.
